Underfloor Heating

Have you considered Underfloor Heating?  Warming the entire floor to 27°C creates a low temperature heat source with a large surface area. With underfloor heating the whole floor becomes a warm radiator "under feet", compared to a relatively small radiator on the wall.

Because the total floor space now acts as a radiator it doesn't have to emit as much heat per square metre compared to a much smaller wall radiator at 80°C. Underfloor heating therefore requires about 50% of the heat that conventional radiators do, and a lower warm water flow rate, saving energy, cost and the environment.

Underfloor heating warms the room from the bottom up first - the space we are living. Rooms with high ceilings will especially benefit from underfloor heating because of this factor. And because under floor heating radiates gently and doesn't convect like radiators, much less dust and bacteria are spread through the room especially aiding asthma, allergy and hay-fever sufferers.

Renewable Energy
- With solar systems, during the winter months, a boiler or immersion heater provides extra heat for water. Sunlight is free and once your installation is complete, your costs reduce, without releasing harmful pollutants.

- Ground source heat pumps cut down on wasted electricity and eliminate gas, oil or solid fuel costs. With more efficiency than electric radiators, CO2 emissions are reduced.

- An air source heat pump is compact, needs no fuel storage space, runs on electricity without waste and means no gas or oil bills. Good for underfloor heating.

- Wood fuelled heating systems burn wood pellets, chips or logs. This offers a good use for waste wood and gives lowered carbon emissions. Dry, nearby storage space is needed.
